Her name is Kwanza, a Swahili word meaning “firstfruits” or “firstborn”. She was born in Hamburg in the ’90s to an Afro-Brazilian father and a bolognese mother. She graduated in Political Science and International Relations in Rome, with a master’s degree in Management of Cultural Diversity in Holland.
Seven years ago, together with some Italian activists of foreign origin, he founded the association QuestaèRoma to eliminate all forms of discrimination through art, culture and music by organizing events and meetings to foster exchanges between people from different cultural contexts.
I recently started his new project “Kwanza’s room” and I am making tours around Italy and Europe to tell the stories of Italians and Italians of foreign origin and to normalize our existence that is taken into account only when we talk about racism and we are considered victims instead of simply assets of the company.
