Ofelia Omoyele Balogun

Her name is Ofelia, she is nomadic, traveller, unripe scholar of archetypes, dancer, choreographer and artist of the movement, writer in flower, poet and visionary, alchemist.

She was born in Bologna, the city that houses the oldest University in the western world (1088) and that has transmitted her soul of continuous search for meaning. Her mother of Sicilian origin settled in this city and here she met her father, of Nigerian origin.

She is the founder of Moremi Path, a platform where the Art of Movement and personal growth are intertwined in a space dedicated to the search for oneself through the rediscovery of African, Afro-Caribbean dance and its children in the world.

Dance is a portal, a suspension of my thoughts, a detachment from reality that allows me to rise in a dimension where everything is peace. There’s no fancy way to express what I feel, but it’s what I feel, something I can’t do without.
